Now is that an important question?<br />Consider another question. Do u ever ask does an electron exist? No.<br />Consider this.<br />Have you ever felt, seen, touched, tasted or smelled an electron. No. So in effect its existence has not been verified by you - the same reason why you most probably dont believe in God. So if you believe in electrons, you must believe in God (if a scientist's word is good for you, then so should be a saint's).<br /><br />Now for a different view.<br />The electron is only a theory, or rather a part of a theory proposed by man, in his endeavor to understand nature and its mysteries. And can be displaced by a better theory any day. So why dont we take God in the same sense, just a temporary theory that can be discarded once we have a better theory.<br /><br />Now looked at this way, it is clear man proposed God to explain phenomena he couldn't attribute a cause to - and there's no harm in accepting for the phenomena we cant yet explain as long as our endeavor to understand nature is not deemed complete by this theory of "God made everything".<br /><br />And that's the beauty of agnosticism - you conveniently gloss over the most fought over question.
